Hello Friends, a quick check-in before the Thanksgiving holiday here in the States. My nephew loves his new tiny boat hats! He couldn’t wait so I’ve no finished hat to show you. In this episode I talk about knitting, embroidery and spinning. HO! HO! can you believe it? Thank you as always for tuning in. Wishing you health and peace. Fondly, Sarah

Sarah –
I continue to love your videos – recently saw your Mom in one of them. (Say “Hi!” to Sue! : ) And am always inspired by your knitting and spinning. I have also started listening to *Yarns at Yinhoo*, and isn’t that a relaxing way to spend some spinning time! Thank you for mentioning it. Meanwhile, my spinning journey continues with great joy and success – I am about to see if I can commit to knitting *only* from hand-spun. Attached are pix of my first sock yarn, and my “Jacob sweater-spin” – which I started at the Machiasport Fiber retreat where I last saw you – I learned so much this summer as I “duplicated” the spin to create that skein in the center! Plus, I just bought some first-time-ever raw fleece! (just dipping my toe in – only 8 oz). It’s a lovely, crimpy, fairly clean Corriedale/ Romney cross that Jodi got from a shepherd in Greenbush Maine and was selling at One Lupin.
So, this year we stayed in Maine for 6 months (longest stay ever), leaving Lubec just last week. We pulled out of our yard to head back to Mississippi on the morning of this year’s first hard frost – yikes ð. If only our house were better insulated (and had a wood stove!), we would consider year-found. But right now, we still like those warmer winters and early springs here in The South. But, if you ever want to spend some time in Lubec during the warmer months, you, Ruby and Rob (is that right?) are welcome to visit us in Lubec – we have guest rooms!
May you have ease of well-being, and a joyful winter of fibery fun – I look forward to seeing you tell us more about it!

Dear Susan,
My mom’s guest appearance garnered a lot of comments! Yarns at Yin Hoo is so fabulous, I am glad you’ve found her! And the spinning! What an endeavor,! To spin only from handspun! Ai! What a nice extra long stay in Lubec. We will keep your invitation in mind. I don’t get to spend much time on the coast and I know Rob and I would both love to hike the Bold Coast Trail. We are hanging in there here. Looking forward to skiable snow and the holidays. I am lucky enough to be spending it with my family. Thank you again for sharing your fiber adventures. Wishing you much health and happiness for the holidays and new year!
I so very much enjoy your videos and love seeing what you have been making and how it inspires my own creative journey. I am planning on joining the make-along, although not sure what I am going to make yet. Before our library closed (again) I was able to snag The Lost Spells. Goodness, how I love the poems and the artwork (swoon!). I’ve been thinking of doing some kind of mixed media wall hanging, painting and embroidering? Or perhaps some more literal red fox fingerless gloves? Not sure yet, but really excited to see what everyone else comes up with. Thank you for sharing with us. Not having a crafting community around me has been deeply hard, and getting to listen to your vlogs and other crafters you mention makes me feel less isolated right now- something I deeply appreciate. I am thrilled you were able to snag the Lost Spells before another closure. I am excited to see what you make. Thank you for your kinds words. I am glad you’ve found some connection here. I know it is a hard time to and I can appreciate how the feeling of isolation can have such an impact on our lives. Fond wishes, Sarah
