Episode 160~Book Binding & Wiola Designs KAL

I admit KALs are challenging to me. But these designs were so beautiful I thought knitting together would be a way to see if this framework could evolve from what it used to be to something different than my past experience. I chat about the details in the knitting segment on this episode.

You’ll notice that there is some different footage in this episode as I finally got a drone. The market took a long time to develop exactly what I wanted in a price range that made sense for my skills ;). I’m having fun expanding out the stories that can be told in my life using this new tool. I’ve only crashed it twice!

Episode 159~In Conversation with Sofia Karlsson

Hello!

I had grand plans for this episode but some technical difficulty got in the way. I’m spending some time over the new year to rethink my format and how to be more efficient with my time and still get the imagery I want. All that to say, I’m so thrilled my friend Sofia agreed to chat with me over zoom about her new book. While I really wish I could’ve traveled to Sweden for this chat, I didn’t want to wait. A very happy new year!

I’m excited to highlight in this episode my finished Twisted Rib Cardigan in Tidal Yarns and dream a little bit about a new cast on even though the Yell lingers on my knitting periphery 😉

Episode 156~Quilting, Nature Journaling, Knitting|Should we do a Wiola Designs KAL?

Jeepers, October has really sent the plague after me! I battled another round of cold symptoms and I’m happy to report I’ve won and am on the mend. Between that and looking after my brother’s family for a week not much knitting was done. I did have some finishes though when it comes to quilting . And I was greatly inspired by last week’s wildlife video to embark on a nature journaling attempt.

I’m afraid the knitting hasn’t changed much;) Thank you as always for tuning in!

Episode 155~Rhinebeck Recap, Cabin Vlog & Knitting

Whenever I attend an event or venture out into the fiber world, I have big dreams of all the footage I’ll get. In reality though, filming, hosting, and directing compounded with the fun doesn’t always work out. I’m glad Patricia remembered to take some photos. I grabbed her reel from IG in hopes it would highlight the feeling and the people in the booth. I found the time at the cabin much easier to capture, as it was just me, Rob and Ruby. And as you’ll see even the animals cooperated!

I’m afraid the knitting hasn’t changed much;) Thank you as always for tuning in!

Episode 154~Soulful, Woolly Chat with Corinne of the Woolly Thistle|VT Sheep & Wool, & Knitting

I always think I’m going to get all the footage! But alas, shooting and hosting don’t alway align. I really enjoyed my time visiting The Woolly Thistle and attending Vermont Sheep & Wool. I was happy to capture some images of Millapalooza as well on a gorgeous fall night. But the real joy of this episode is the conversation I got to have with Corinne about soulful stash, wool and place-based yarns. I hope you enjoy it too. Somehow the last part of the conversation got cut off but it was probably just as well 😉 We were really having a good time and it might not have stopped!

I apologize for being linked to YouTube but my video was too much storage for my Vimeo subscription. So in the spirit of getting things done, I appreciate your flexibility!

Episode 153~The Hobbit Episode, Knitting and Upcoming Travel Plans

Somehow…;) my project have all coalesced around J.R.R. Tolkien. I finished the There & Back Again “Cardigan” as. you know. And then somehow I managed to set myself up for a hand quilting project with The Hobbit Vest by Thread and Yarn. There’s a little Woolly Thistle planning in this episode and some discussion around upcoming projects I’d like to consider casting on.

Fond Wishes,
Sarah

Episode 152~Creative Vlog|Cyanotypes|Painting|Knitting

‘m taking advantage of the cool, sunny weather and making the most of my outdoor opportunities. I have so much more I want to get done and I already sense the cold and darkness creeping up on me. In this edition I get a jump start on some cyanotype projects, highlight some favorite paints and give an update on my There and Back Again Cardigan! I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.

Late Summer Vlog~Natural Dyeing and A Knitted Hobbit Vest

Oh summer…you were slow and lovely but not long enough for me to get all my immersive projects done! I did get a start on my natural dyeing experiments and I’ve made some serious in roads on my knitting. So on this episode we’ll chat about weld, logwood, Himalayan rhubarb and iron modifiers. The hobbit vest is off to be worn and as of right now I’m done the body of the There and Back Again. There’s a new cast on too. I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.
