Episode 93: Homestead

Hello! I hope you are well and moving through the world with ease. Something a little different this time as I gathered footage of many different crafts. I sneak in a some Maine life with a little peak into our family’s ice fishing and sugaring traditions. Fond wishes and thank you for tuning in!

  1. This was so lovely. Cameron is a lucky boy and he will have wonderful memories all his life. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Thank you for sharing your lovely snowy scenery and beautiful makings. I’m delighted to hear the Lost Words MKAL will continue….I have bought the book on your recommendation and my daughter has picked a pattern for dandelion socks which we will cast on. She calls them “wishers” when they appear in our garden. She loves them.

  3. love watching your videos. I am a knitter and quilter although have tried my hand at other crafts these have remained favorites, your area is so beautiful so a pleasure to follow your treks. Have been fortunate to spend quite a bit of time in Oxbow over the years both winter and summer and do mini fiber treks. Thanks you for sharing with us. Carol

Have been fortunate to spend time in Oxbow both winter and summertime coming up from mass with knitting and some yarn purchases during stay guess that puts me on a mini fibertrek.your sweaters are always so beautiful. 4. Always love your vlogs, Sarah! and this one was a special treat. Reminded me of when my son was younger and we did so many things outside 🙂 Now, he’ll be off to college next year! Happy snow walking to you and Ruby!

    • Thanks Melissa, Rob and I love to tune in to yours too especially when Spencer is around to bring some reality and grounding to the mad world of knitting! College! Ai! That will be a big change. Good thing you have the beasties!

  5. Thank you Sarah! I had a very lovely time watching your video while I’m knitting. I’m very impressed with the outdoor activities you can do during the winter time! Beautiful😘

  6. I am so happy to have found this quiet, positive place you are sharing. Robert M’s books and words are a constant inspiration to me and it is wonderful to see you translating his message so creatively. Plus bannocks and a kilted figure on the wall so perhaps this part of the world is in your story somewhere. It’s lovely to meet you!

  7. You’re so right – getting outside being engaged with ourselves within nature – it’s so important. It’s been such a difficult year for so many in so many different ways. Thanks for sharing how you connect and recharge. Me? I’m chasing the light and feeling energized by the prospect of regeneration and springtime.

  8. What a lovely episode! Such a treat to see more of the surrounding where you live and the beautiful nature. Thank you for sharing. You have inspired me to have a look at the Sian pullover. I think I might make it with some handspun yarn.
    Take care and happy making!
