Episode 133~Fall South

Hello!

It’s been a crazy September. I just can’t seem to get myself home. This past month I’ve been at my parents looking after the animals while they’ve been away.  As fall approaches here in the northeast of the US, I can’t wait for our first wood fire and mug of soup. The past few days have been cool and this has allowed me to pull out some hand quilting projects I’d put on hold due to the heat. I am definitely ready to be cozy and quiet and start gearing up for my winter dormancy 😉

In this edition, I delve into some watercolor and encaustic experimentation, make some apple cider donuts and talk about my knitting.

I hope this finds you well, thank you and many blessings. If you’d like to support the project and receive bonus content monthly you can find me on Patreon.

Episode 132~Continent to Continent

Hello All,

As you can see from the picture, I got to spend some time chatting with Sofia of Sofia’s Tales designs.  She is a knitwear designer, writer, photographer, all around maker and a dear friend. I am so thrilled to be able to bring you an unperson interview with this creative force.

Alas, my knitting continues to be the same. But I’m hopeful in the next episode, I’ll have some more progress on a variety of project to share now that I’ve landed.

I found it difficult to describe our trip to the Yukon so I decided to let the landscape and music do it for me. If you’ve not seen the latest bonus video, it features Loretta of Knit My Way Home and we talk more about the Yukon.

I’m working on some more local treks for October and November and I have to admit it’s nice to be home.

As always, thank you for tuning and your support.

If you would like a little more content or to catch up on my trip to the Yukon you can find it on my Patreon page.

Many Blessings, Sarah

Episode 131~Summer Sew

Ahem…there’s no knitting in this one. BUT! WAIT!  There’s watercolor, quilts and…SEWING! I found myself sewing again. Plus a major quilting triumph. ;).  I am off to Sweden and believe me it’s been a whirlwind this summer.  I am feeling so blessed with friendships and family and for that I’m  deeply grateful.

I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.

Episode 130~Orkney Travel Vlog II

Hello! On the latest edition, it’s back to Orkney for some time on Eday. I mostly compiled some small vignettes of daily life. I personally like this type of format in other vlogs and enjoy editing them. There is knitting and I share some treasures I brought back from the islands.

Hope this finds you well and in good spirits. Sarah

Episode 129~Home Away From Home~Orkney Travel Vlog 1

Hello! It’s been a whirlwind of a summer so far! But I had a lovely time on Eday and am excited to bring to you my first episode highlighting Orkney Tweed. As usual, my style is very casual and conversational. I try to travel light and make the best of what’s available for light and ambiance. Nancy, creative and owner of Orkney Tweed was exceptionally generous with her time and shop.

I had to break this episode into two parts as there was so much to cover AND the upload would’ve broken my internet connection here in the northern part of Maine 😉 Next time, I’ll be featuring more footage from the farm and also updates on my knitting! July will be spent catching up on my studio makes i.e. quilting, cyanotypes and painting. In the meantime, I hope this finds you well and in good spirits. Episode 128~Loose Ends

I’m sure the title will speak for itself here…what a butter brain I’ve been. In the episode I try to corral my interview with Patricia of Tidal Yarns, the Maine Fiber Frolic and my knitting.  Sheesh…you’d think I was conducting quantum physics, but no…it’s simply a matter of being better organized.  The sound quality of the interview is reflective of one of my loose ends, I forgot my mic cord on the shoot and so had to delve deep into the realm of audio engineering…it’a steep curve, I’m at the bottom pushing an elephant up. Thank you for your patience and grace.  Thank you for taking some time to join along with me. And if you’re a patron, I’m so deeply grateful for the support. Patreon

Episode 127~Nostalgic Knit

It’s an exciting episode to round out May! Rob and I travel to the cabin to open it up for summer and investigate our trail cameras.  I detail my recent finish, the Zora, and promptly cast on two new sweaters.  I also take a field trip to Port Fiber in Portland, Maine to talk with Casey Ryder about the shop and Cashmere People Yarns.  Thank you for talking some time to tune in.

Meanwhile, I’m busily preparing for the Maine Fiber Frolic AND the end of school which means getting myself to Orkney.  I hope this finds you well and in good spirits.

Data compression and storage is becoming a thing these days~I had to upload the video to Vimeo as a smaller file due to my limited storage plan. I appreciate your flexibility. If you don’t mind ads you can watch at a higher quality over on YouTube.

Episode 126~Daring Craft

Hello!

I was captured this month by some watercolor gremlins! Oh, it felt good to be back in the paper craft and journaling realm. Even better as I was joined by my mum and my niece for some painting time all together. I was able to meet up with Casey of Portfiber this month and am looking forward to featuring her shop and work on the next episode. In the meantime, you’ll have to put up with my painting antics and alafosslopi progress ;).

Episode~124 Sky & Snow

Hello!
Well, I thought March was going to long and sloggy but here we are at the end and only two weeks away from my April break.  I am feeling the momentum of spring start to emerge and found myself today back at the table with cyanotypes. There are lots of plans being made for the spring and summer. I almost can’t catch my breath with the whirlwind of thoughts.
In this episode, I take you along on our winter trip to the cabin by snowmobile and provide more details on the Stars Upon Stars endeavor. There is also knitting and spinning!
